Guidelines for Reopening Public Attendance at Mass at St. Lawrence the Martyr Catholic Parish

The general dispensation from the obligation to attend Sunday Mass remains in effect for all Catholics in the Diocese of San Jose until further notice.

All are encouraged to participate via live stream on Facebook Live at facebook.com/stlawrencedsj/live:

All those who are at a higher risk of developing the severe COVID-19 illness, such as those over 65 and those who have serious underlying health conditions, including heart disease, lung disease, and diabetes are encouraged to stay at home.

MASS OUTSIDE IN THE PAVILION

• Only 100 people at a time are allowed to attend the Mass (including the presiding priest and lector)
• Only 98 tickets will be available in total
• A total of four (4) tickets maximum can be reserved at a time per household

• For the check in process, plan to arrive no earlier than 15 to 20 minutes prior to the Mass. Make sure follow social distancing tape placed on the ground. No one will be admitted after the Mass has already begun.
• Attendees must bring their own personal items when attending Mass:

1. FACE COVERING (MASK) should be worn at all times by attendees 6 years of age and older.
2. Please place CHAIRS 6 feet apart from others. 
   • Since the Mass is celebrated outside, attendees should bring any additional items needed for their personal use, e.g., umbrella, appropriate jacket, water bottle, blanket, sunscreen, hat.
3. HAND SANITIZER is to be used before and after the reception of Holy Communion, and whenever it is deemed necessary.

• Physical distancing is required at all times, including during the time of Holy Communion.
• Instructions for receiving Holy Communion will be announced during each Mass. Please note that the Holy Eucharist will ONLY be distributed on the hand.

• If an attendee is uncomfortable receiving the Holy Eucharist at this time, please remain seated during the distribution of Holy Communion. 

• Please remain seated at the end of Mass. Instructions on how to leave in an orderly manner will be announced.

• No social gatherings before or after Mass. Attendees should plan to go home right away.

• No restroom facilities will be available, so please plan accordingly.

• All high-contact areas will be sanitized after every Mass.
