Come Holy Spirit!  Happy and holy Pentecost Sunday!  Our Easter Season has come to an end. Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ is risen from the dead.  He has ascended into heaven and sits at the right of hand of the Father.  Today, he sends his Holy Spirit over his Church and fills its members with “the fire of his love.” Amen!

So many blessings and so much grace being poured into our hearts this day.  It is incredible. Let us give praise to God. The Holy Spirit, the third person of the Most Holy Trinity, (which we will celebrate next Sunday), is explained in the Catechism of the Catholic Church, “On the day of Pentecost when the seven weeks of Easter had come to an end, Christ's Passover is fulfilled in the outpouring of the Holy Spirit, manifested, given, and communicated as a divine person: of his fullness, Christ, the Lord, pours out the Spirit in abundance.” (#733)  What is this Spirit of abundance?  It is a joy that fills our hearts knowing we belong to another, Jesus Christ, and he shares with us the Spirit of Divine Love.  Do we feel this?  Do we pray to the Holy Spirit for this abundance?

“On that day, the Holy Trinity is fully revealed. Since that day, the Kingdom announced by Christ has been open to those who believe in him: in the humility of the flesh and in faith, they already share in the communion of the Holy Trinity. By his coming, which never ceases, the Holy Spirit causes the world to enter into the "last days," the time of the Church, the Kingdom already inherited though not yet consummated.” (#734)  We are reminded we live in the end times…the last days.  Not the doom and gloom of the apocalyptic vision of the world, but in the coming of God’s Kingdom.  We live as members of the Church in the power of the Holy Spirit.  Remember the Gifts and Fruits of the Spirit?  Seeing God’s abundant blessing in our lives helps us live in communion with one another.

“"The Spirit helps us in our weakness; for we do not know how to pray as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes with sighs too deep for words.” The Holy Spirit, the artisan of God's works, is the master of prayer.” (#741)  As we continue in prayer…we ask the Holy Spirit to be with us and teach us how to pray.  Come Holy Spirit!  Fill the hearts of your faithful!

¡Ven, Espíritu Santo! ¡Feliz y santo domingo de Pentecostés! El tiempo de Pascua ha llegado a su fin. Nuestro Señor y Salvador Jesucristo ha resucitado de entre los muertos, Ha ascendido al cielo y está sentado a la derecha del Padre. Hoy envía su Espíritu Santo sobre su Iglesia y llena a sus miembros con “el Fuego de su Amor”. ¡Amén!

Tantas bendiciones y tanta gracia se derraman en nuestros corazones este día. ¡Es increíble! ¡Demos alabanza a Dios! El Espíritu Santo, quien es la tercera persona de la Santísima Trinidad (y a la cual celebraremos el próximo domingo), se explica en el Catecismo de la Iglesia Católica: “El día de Pentecostés (al termino de las siete semanas pascuales) La Pascua de Cristo se consuma con la efusión del Espíritu Santo que se manifiesta, da y comunica como persona divina: desde su plenitud, Cristo, el Señor, derrama el Espíritu en abundancia”. (#731) ¿Qué es este Espíritu de abundancia? Es un gozo que llena nuestro corazón al saber que pertenecemos a otro, Jesucristo, y él comparte con nosotros el Espíritu del Amor Divino. ¿Sentimos esto? ¿Oramos al Espíritu Santo por esta abundancia?

“En este día se revela plenamente la Santísima Trinidad. Desde ese día, el Reino anunciado por Cristo está abierto a todos los que creen en El: en la humildad de la carne y en la fe, participan ya en la Comunión de la Santísima Trinidad. Con su venida, que no cesa, el Espíritu Santo hace entrar al mundo en los "últimos tiempos", el tiempo de la Iglesia, el Reino ya heredado, pero todavía no consumado”. (#732) Se nos recuerda que vivimos en los últimos tiempos... los últimos días.  No el pesimismo de la visión apocalíptica del mundo, sino la venida del Reino de Dios. Vivimos como miembros de la Iglesia en el poder del Espíritu Santo. ¿Recuerdas los Dones y Frutos del Espíritu? El ver la abundante bendición de Dios en nuestras vidas nos ayuda a vivir en comunión unos con otros.

““El Espíritu viene en ayuda de nuestra flaqueza. Pues nosotros no sabemos pedir como conviene; más el Espíritu mismo intercede por nosotros con gemidos inefables". El Espíritu Santo, artífice de las obras de Dios, es el Maestro de la oración”. (#741) Mientras continuamos en oración… ¡pedimos al Espíritu Santo que esté con nosotros y nos enseñe a orar! ¡Ven Espíritu Santo, llena los corazones de tus fieles!
