Alleluia! He is Risen! Alleluia! Indeed He is Risen! Alleluia!
On behalf of Fr. Anthony, Fr. Ukeme, Ms. Frea and the staff and faculty of our parish and parish school, I wish you a holy and blessed Easter day. It is a great and glorious time where we in faith proclaim the Resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
We welcome all those who come and worship with us weekly, those who are visiting family and friends for these Holy Days, and those who may be coming for the very first time or returning after many years. Our joy in your presence fills the Church this day and all days.
In an ancient Easter Homily from Melito the Bishop of Sardis, that in the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, we acknowledge in faith the promise of Jesus: “I am the Christ; I have destroyed death, triumphed over the enemy, trampled hell underfoot, bound the strong one, and taken men to the heights of heaven: I am the Christ. Come, then, all you nations of men, receive forgiveness… I am your forgiveness. I am the Passover that brings salvation. I am the lamb…I am your ransom, your life and resurrection, your light, I am your salvation and your king.”
It is our faith that we are restored to life from death to sin through this great and glorious Paschal Mystery we celebrate today and every day as disciples of Jesus Christ.
Our own Bishop Oscar Cantú in his Easter letter of last year reminds us also:
“As we celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ in this Easter season, I wonder if we think about heaven. If we imagine what it might be like. If we make plans for it.
In our modern culture, we plan many things in life. We plan for our children’s future, for the development of our careers, for vacations, and for efficient work on a busy day. Do we ever plan for heaven? Does it require planning?”
As we answer, Yes! to Jesus, we are invited into the closer more intimate relationship with God… this year the parish offers you, during this time of Eucharist Revival, a wonderful little book, Becoming Eucharistic People, (Convertirse En Personas Eucarísticas) to deepen our relationship with God and his holy Catholic Church.

¡Aleluya! ¡Él ha resucitado! ¡Aleluya! ¡Ciertamente Él ha Resucitado! ¡Aleluya!
En nombre de los padres Anthony e Ukeme, la directora de la escuela, señora Frea y el personal que labora con ella, en mi nombre y también de todo el personal de la Oficina Parroquial, les deseo un santo y bendecido día de Pascua. Es un tiempo grande y glorioso en el que proclamamos con fe la Resurrección de nuestro Señor y Salvador Jesucristo.
Damos la bienvenida a todos aquellos que vienen y adoran con nosotros semanalmente, así como a aquellos que visitan a familiares y amigos en estos días Santos, y a aquellos que vienen por primera vez o regresan después de muchos años. La alegría de tu presencia llena a la Iglesia este y todos los días.
En una antigua homilía de Pascua del Obispo Melitón, de Sardes, se nos enseña que tanto en la vida, muerte y resurrección de Jesucristo, reconocemos en la fe la promesa de Jesús: “Yo soy el Cristo; He destruido la muerte, vencido al enemigo, pisoteado el infierno, atado al fuerte y llevado a los hombres a las alturas del cielo: Yo soy el Cristo. Venid, pues, todas las naciones de los hombres, recibid el perdón... Yo soy vuestro perdón. Yo soy la Pascua que trae salvación. Yo soy el cordero… Yo soy tu rescate, tu vida y resurrección, tu luz, yo soy tu salvación y tu rey.”
¡Esta es nuestra fe! ¡Que somos restaurados a la vida de la muerte al pecado, a través de este gran y glorioso Misterio Pascual que celebramos hoy y todos los días, como discípulos de Jesucristo!
Nuestro propio Obispo Oscar Cantú en su carta de Pascua del año pasado nos recuerda también:
“Mientras celebramos la resurrección de Jesucristo en este tiempo de Pascua, me pregunto si pensamos en el cielo. Si nos imaginamos cómo podría ser. Si hacemos planes para ello.
En nuestra cultura moderna, planeamos muchas cosas en la vida. Planificamos el futuro de nuestros hijos, el desarrollo de nuestras carreras, las vacaciones y el trabajo eficiente en un día ajetreado. ¿Alguna vez hemos planeado para el cielo? ¿Esto requiere planificación?”
En la medida que respondemos, ¡Sí! a Jesús, estamos invitados a una relación más íntima con Dios... este año la parroquia les ofrece, durante este tiempo de Avivamiento Eucarístico, un librito maravilloso: “Convertirse en Personas Eucarísticas”, para así poder profundizar nuestra relación con Dios y su santa Iglesia Católica.
¡Felices Pascuas! ¡Aleluya! ¡Él ha resucitado! ¡Aleluya! ¡Ciertamente Él ha Resucitado! ¡Aleluya!
