PowerSchool

PowerSchool is an electronic, web-based student information system. The school uses the system for attendance and to contain and organize data base information, as well as to make student progress available to parents.

For students in grades 4 - 8, PowerSchool's easy-to-use communication tools make it simple for parents, students, teachers, and administrators to monitor student achievement. Each family has a user name and password for log in that assures confidentiality and provides continuous access to grades, missing assignments, and teacher comments.

Teachers post grades for assignments noting any specifics about the assignment or serious shortcomings of a specific student's work. If a student has not turned in an assignment or has been excused from an assignment, that information will be noted using the appropriate codes. Parents can also email a teacher directly from PowerSchool. Grades are posted within a week of an assignment being turned in except in unusual circumstances such as big projects or extensive writing assignments, which may require additional time for grading.

Parents are encouraged to check PowerSchool weekly to ensure students are on track.
