Extended Care
St. Lawrence School offers three extended (before and after school) care programs.
All three sites offer students a safe and supervised environment to play and visit with classmates and study; all three sites may be used on a drop-in or regular basis and charge by the hour. Parents are billed every two weeks, and payment is due on receipt of the statement .
At the pre-school before and after school care is offered in the pre-school rooms from 7 AM until 8 AM and from 11:30 AM until 6 PM. In addition to indoor activities, the children go outside to the playground each day, weather permitting.
For students in grades kindergarten through fifth grade, the Children's Center provides after school snacks, supervised homework time, play, both indoors and out, and arts and crafts. The Children's Center is open from 7 AM until 7:45 AM in the morning and from the time school dismisses until 6 PM on all school days. The Children's Center is also open on teacher in-service days.
The Teen Center is a separate site for students in grades 6, 7, and 8. Students at the Teen Center are encouraged to use Homework Clinic, which is available every day except Wednesdays and Fridays. Those who do not use the Homework Clinic (supervised by a teacher) are required to study on their own. Students are provided a daily snack, comfortable couches for talking with friends, and an outside play area with basketball hoops and room for soccer. The Teen Center is open everyday after school. Middle School students who arrive at school before 7:45 AM sign in at the Children's Center.
Extended Care rates are available at each site. For families with more than one student enrolled there are discounted rates for the second child and third child when all children are enrolled in the K through 8 extended care program.
