EDUCATION COUNCIL
The Education Council, representing both the Elementary and Middle Schools and the Academy (the high school), acts as an advisory board to the Pastor and the two principals. The Council meets monthly to advise the Administration on matters affecting the schools and students. Service on the Education Council is by invitation and parents interested in serving may self-nominate by communicating their interest to one of the principals. The usual term of office is three years, and no member may serve more than two consecutive terms. Each member serves as the chair of one of the standing committees. The current members are:
Scott Hall, Council chair
Clarissa Barela-Ortiz, secretary and Public Policy chair
Rick Duenas, Catholic Identity chair
Jon Peacock, Marketing/Public Relations co-chair
Karen Meyer, Marketing/Public Relations co-chair
Greg Baker, Strategic Planning chair
Kay McFall-Smith, Facilities chair
Renee Dewhirst
Parents interested in serving on Education Council committees are invited to self-nominate; it is not necessary to be a member of the Education Council to serve on one of the committees. The only requirement is a sincere interest in the growth of St. Lawrence Education Center.
